Web Standards
I am focussing more and more on being Web Standards Compliant for the following reasons:
- Cross-browser viewing
More and more people are moving away from Internet Explorer (Windows default browser) to Firefox, Opera and others. And Mac users prefer Safari. By being standard compliant cross-browser compatibility is assured.
- Screen resolution
Screen sizes and resolutions vary, so websites need to fit the widest range possible, from wide-screen laptops to High-Definition screens.
- Search Engine Optimization
Search engines like Google (the world's most popular search engine) reward websites that use standards compliant coding.

About Me
I am a self-employed
Web Marketer &
Technology Consultant. Since the early '80's I have held various Sales and Marketing positions with major corporate companies including
Panasonic and
Sony.
I have been web surfing for over a decade now. In 1997 there was no Google, Wikipedia, YouTube or MySpace. And also no ADSL! It seems unbelievable to me now that there was even life before the Internet, as computers and the Net are such an integral part of my life, both for income generation and for relaxation.
I have two sons, Michael and Christopher, who are my pride and joy; besides them, I have two main passions in my life:
Music and
Technology. I am in the very fortunate position to be able to earn income from both of these loves. I also enjoy reading fantasy novels, like David Eddings, Anne McCaffrey and Raymond E Feist, but I haven't found a way to get paid for that yet!
